Flirting with appliqué

This is my first ever appliqué project. I love Kellie’s patterns from Don’t Look Now – especially Meg’s Garden and her Robot quilt for boys. So instead on jumping in with the bigger quilts, I decided to try a version of her cushions. I haven’t followed the pattern exactly, but I really love this technique (raw edge appliqué/trapunto) even though it’s time consuming. This also my first time using anything like steam-a-seam2.

I haven’t started the actual quilting yet – no white thread!!! Hopefully the flowers will pop out even more when I do. Here’s the pattern envelope.

I’ve been working with the pattern pieces of the ‘Sweet Little Garden’ but with a different size cushion and less flowers!
